Karen Astrachan, LMFT
Psychotherapy for Adolescents and Adults
About Me...
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 10 years of experience working with adults, couples, children, and families in Los Angeles. After several years working in the entertainment industry, I decided to pursue my passion for Psychology and relationships. I graduated from Pepperdine University in 2005 with a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy.
I spent my traineeship and internship at the reputable Maple Counseling Center in Beverly Hills, California. I also spent six years working at Didi Hirsch Mental Health in Inglewood, California with at-risk youth and their families. Grateful for my excellent training experiences, I enjoy giving back by working with new therapists who are developing their skill set. I worked as a Supervisor at Didi Hirsch, Los Angeles Child Guidance Center, Pasadena Mental Health Center, and as an off-site Supervisor at the Maple Counseling Center.
With each of my clients, my goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment in which we can build a close and trusting relationship. I strongly believe in the healing power of the therapeutic relationship, and feel privileged every time a client allows me the opportunity to be part of their self-exploration process.
I work with my clients in a down-to-earth, conversational way. My style is warm and genuine, yet challenging. I have a genuine passion for my work and I believe that together, we can make a lasting and positive change in their life.
